The short version: the articles, tools, and templates on this site are free educational resources. They are not legal or financial advice, and they cannot guarantee that any grant will be funded. The course and grant writing services are offered on subthesis.com under their own terms.

Acceptance of these terms

grantwritingconsultant.com (the “Site”) is operated by Angel Reyes Consulting LLC, operating as Subthesis (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By using the Site, you agree to these Terms of Use and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

Educational information only

Everything on the Site, including articles, templates, checklists, tool output, and writing tips, is general educational information. It is not legal, financial, tax, accounting, or compliance advice, and it may not reflect the latest rules for your situation. Using the Site does not create a consulting, advisory, or attorney-client relationship.

Funding requirements change often. Always follow the funder’s current solicitation or notice of funding opportunity, the official text of applicable regulations such as 2 CFR 200, and the advice of qualified professionals.

No guarantee of results

Grant funding decisions are made by funders, not by us. We do not guarantee that any proposal will be funded or will score well. Success rates, time savings, and other results described on the Site are illustrative, reflect specific experiences, and are not promises of what you will achieve. Your results depend on your organization, your project, the funder, and many factors outside our control.

Free tools and templates

  • The Proposal Builder, Grant Readiness Checklist, and Template Library are provided free of charge and “as is.” We may change or discontinue them at any time.
  • You are responsible for everything you enter into the tools and for reviewing, editing, and verifying anything you submit to a funder.
  • Proposal Builder drafts are saved only in your browser. We cannot recover a draft if your browser data is cleared, so keep your own copies of important work.
  • You own the content you create with the tools. You may use generated outlines, templates, and PDFs for your own proposals and your clients’ proposals.

Use of artificial intelligence

Some articles discuss using AI tools in grant writing. Funders have different rules about AI use and disclosure. You are responsible for following each funder’s policies and for verifying the accuracy of any AI-assisted content you submit.

Course and grant writing services

The Complete Grant Architect course is free and is hosted on subthesis.com. Enrollment, course access, and any grant writing services you hire us to perform are governed by the terms on subthesis.com and by any separate written agreement between you and us. Those terms control if they conflict with these Terms of Use.

Intellectual property

The Site’s content, including articles, graphics, the Grant Architect methodology materials, and site design, is owned by Angel Reyes Consulting LLC and protected by copyright and other laws. You may read, share links to, and print the content for your own non-commercial use, and you may quote short excerpts with attribution and a link to the source page. You may not republish, sell, or create derivative courses or products from the content without our written permission.

Acceptable use

Do not use the Site in any way that is unlawful, that could damage or overload it, or that attempts to gain unauthorized access to it. Do not copy the Site’s content in bulk by automated means except for ordinary search engine indexing.

Third-party links

The Site links to websites we do not control, including funder, government, and social media sites. We are not responsible for their content, accuracy, or practices.

Disclaimer of warranties

The Site and all content, tools, and templates are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be error-free or always available.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Angel Reyes Consulting LLC and its members, employees, and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any lost funding, profits, revenue, or data, arising from your use of the Site. Because the Site is provided free of charge, our total liability for any claim relating to the Site is limited to one hundred U.S. dollars (US$100). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Angel Reyes Consulting LLC from claims, losses, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising from your misuse of the Site or your violation of these Terms of Use.

Governing law

These Terms of Use are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute relating to the Site will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in California, and you consent to their jurisdiction.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the Site after an update means you accept the revised terms.
